Kim, found the birth of her daughter in 2016, as the turning point in her life, creating a strong inner child bond within herself, that inspired her towards the creation of the Programme and the Gallery, thereafter. In her words, “As a responsible Global citizen its my duty, to pay Gratitude for the support and encouragement, I , have received through my artistic years and mirror it towards the collective for a brighter future”.
Growing up in India with a defense/military background, her love for art was a natural progression from her early years. Her Father played an integral role in encouraging her creative passion; she grew up admiring his geometrical paintings of women. The eye was the first subject he taught her. Art always took Centre - Stage in Kim’s life; the only time she had to pause her passion for painting and art monetarily, was while pursuing BA in Hotel Management, from University of Huddersfield, UK, due to lack of opportunity and right guidance within the art field as a career option at that time.
"Every piece of work by an artist, every stroke, every mark, is a work towards Redefining Infinity." - Kim Oberoi
Another major influence on Kim’s work is also her dedication to meditative and energy healing practices. Her work comes to life as a powerful form of expression and self healing. With an ability to elicit spiritual revelations, her work is directed through mystic energy flow. Her art reflects her response to life and life altering experiences with emphasis on concept and design while simultaneously depicting different phases of her life in every aspect of her creativity.
Over a period of time, her love for bold colors and circular movements have grown stronger and they define her work at the same time.
Each piece is a narration of a storyline with vibrant colors; she says, “I have works from different phases of my life, which were influenced by various factors like time, space, availability of material as well as physical movements which aim at portraying power, spirituality and simplicity.”
Art is “a mind map freedom”, Kim feels that her work is freedom from norms of the universe created and within that she finds art and creativity as a language of freedom, no set formats or stern-types, that creativity is free from all and linking it back to life, as its only oneself, who can create the difference in ones life by realizing that power lies in setting ourselves free from all pre-conceived notions and prejudices. “Being able to inspire people enough to trigger the thought process without being limited to any set prototype.” ~ Kim
